East Fort Worth businessman Adrian Murray and meteorologist John Basham have thrown their hats in the ring for seats on the Tarrant Regional Water District board.   Speaking Thursday evening to the FW Southwest Republican Club, Murray and Basham answered questions and explained their motivations for seeking office.  The pair commented on TRWD eminent domain abuse, rubber-stamping approval of every project presented to it, loans to the TRV and excessive spending, including $1500 dinners and an expensive, unnecessary helicopter that costs $180 per hour to operate (excluding pilot costs).  The TRWD  election will be held this May. 3-4-10: COURTHOUSE RALLY SUPPORTS CARTER AVENUE RESIDENT STEVE DOEUNG
On a chilly Thursday morning, approximately 40 Carter Avenue protestors carried signs to show their support for Steve Doeung, the last remaining homeowner facing the eminent domain of 20' of his front yard.  The event was sponsored by CARO, the Carter Avenue Rescue Operation (which can be found on Facebook).  Dish Mayor Calvin Tillman, businessman Adrian Murray, activist Louis McBee, Carter Ave residents and others spoke passionately on the steps of the old Tarrant County courthouse in support of Mr Doeung before his court appearance.   In a dramatic showdown with Judge Vincent Sprinkle and two Chesapeake lawyers, Steve once again skillfully maneuvered his way through treacherous legal waters but in the end, Judge Sprinkle accepted a copy of the final judgment handed to him by the Chesapeake attorneys.  If and when Judge Sprinkle signs the judgment, Mr. Doeung will have 30 days in which to file another Motion.  Once the judgment is signed, the only thing stopping a future pipeline would be the denial of a street crossing permit by the City Council.  Let's hope that Chesapeake comes through with their alternate route .... and that Judge Sprinkle will think long and hard before signing this judgment.
